How's everyone doing on TimeClock? I know not everyone has tried it yet, but when you do please be sure to let me know if you have any problems clocking or out.
Also, it's very important that you CLOCK OUT at the end of your shift. Also please be sure you continue to fill out your paper time sheet. We will continue to use the paper at least until the middle of November. At that time Ana and I will assess how well things are going and whether you all feel comfortable with the system. Remember, you still need to enter your time in SAP -- TimeClock does not replace SAP! To check your time TimeClock click the LOG ON TO DASHBOARD button and you'll see your time displayed. If you mess up - like forget to clock in or clock out, let me know and I'll edit your time. I would image that will happen quite a bit at first - thus the reason for paper time sheet backups - but once it becomes routine, this will happen less often.
Laptop chargers -- We only have 10 chargers so don't automatically check out a charger with a laptop. If a patron asks for a laptop AND charger, ask them how long they plan on using the computer. Only if they are planning on spending several hours here should you check out both. However, if you see that the laptop you are checking out is really low on battery power, go ahead and check out a charger. If we had more chargers, this wouldn't be an issue, but as it is....

Keep Laptops in order!!
It is essential that laptops are put away in their proper spot! We are searching daily for laptops that haven't been returned overnight, and that task is made harder when they are not in their proper place! They've had to be reorganized at least 3 times this week!! Put them back in their proper spot!!

Laptops, DVDs and Training
Hi,
The laptops have proved problematic to say the least. Issues with connection to the network and actual equipment failures will continue to be a problem until the machines are replaced.... which may be a while. In the meantime, we need to persevere and make sure they all are getting fully charged and are plugged into the network cord when placed in cabinets (C.O.W.s). According to the IT person, most of the issues stem from poor charging -- but since the batteries are old some are only charging to about 10%...so again, we shall persevere!
Another issue with laptops -- when returned, the forms are not always pulled, initialed and filed properly. Please be sure that you are following procedures!
The DVD's and CD are currently undergoing a shift. Luis is overseeing this shift, so if you can help him, I'm sure he would be appreciative.
Either at the end of this week or sometime next week, we are having a group training. Devon, Ana and I are going to do our best to find a time where most of you can attend. This has to do with the checklists I had all of you go through as well as some other issues to be discussed. I will be sending out an email as soon as possible to poll you all for best times to meet.
